Why this isn't medical advice
This tool surfaces two kinds of FDA regulatory data: recall notices (a manufacturing/safety issue with a specific batch or product) and adverse event reports (things people or their doctors reported to the FDA after taking a drug). Both are useful context — neither is a diagnosis, a risk assessment, or guidance on whether a medication is right for you.
openFDA's own disclaimer is direct about this: "Do not rely on openFDA to make decisions regarding medical care." Adverse events are self-reported and unverified — a high count doesn't mean a drug is dangerous, it can just mean it's widely prescribed. If you have a question about a medication you're taking, ask your doctor or pharmacist, not a search tool.
